What is pH and why does it need to be adjusted?

An ideal pH level is acceptable between 7.4 – 7.6. An ideal range allows chemicals to work better, but also allows greater swimmer comfort. pH is a measure of how acidic or how basic your water is and is the most important factor in good water chemistry.
